About

Yew Tree Farm is set in the rolling Herefordshire countryside on the edge of Garway common. A small number of the cows graze daily on the common throughout the summer. The remainder of the herd graze the lush pastures adjacent to Trolway Brook.
We use an integrated system of farming in which wheat, barley, peas, oats and grass are grown in rotation across almost the whole of the farm with only a small proportion kept in permanent pasture. With the exception of most of the wheat, which goes for milling, the arable crops are used as part of the animal feed. The straw is used as bedding for the cows during the winter and is spread back on the fields in the Spring.
